Mindset Needed to Outsource

When you get to a certain point in your business journey, you will want to consider outsourcing both your work and your clients’ work. However, to start outsourcing & scaling your service-based business, you’re going to need to adopt the right mindset to get started. 

Keep reading for my top mindset tips to begin outsourcing today.

You Can’t Do It Alone

First and foremost, you need to understand you won’t get to 6+ figures with your business or agency by working alone. There are only so many hours in each day, and you can’t do everything by yourself. 

You want to be focused on getting your time back and not working harder. By outsourcing to full or part-time team members, you’ll be able to claim some of your time back. 

On average, the clients that I work with inside of Six-Figure Service, get 20+ hours back EACH WEEK when they start bringing on team members.

Focus on your Zone of Genius

There are only twenty-four hours in each day, so you need to be strategic with the time you are working and only focus on the task at hand. If you don’t enjoy uploading social media posts, or they take up an unnecessary amount of time that could be used elsewhere, outsource this to someone who enjoys this work. 

As you step into the CEO role, you won’t have time to work on all those smaller tasks, as you need to focus on scaling & higher-level tasks that will allow you to stay in growth mode. 

Plus, by having team members to support you, your clients will have a better experience because they’re getting access to multiple experts within one agency.

Understand the Logistics of Outsourcing

Before you begin to outsource your work, you need to understand the logistics of this and how it will work for your agency or business. This includes budgeting for your new team members and learning to delegate effectively. 

A lot of people don’t know how to delegate work, leaving team members confused and unsure where to start. You’ll need to learn how to manage team members, which may take a little getting used to at the beginning!

Outsourcing to Help Your Business Expand

At a certain point in your business journey, you’ll have no choice but to expand if you want to increase your income. You’ll get to a point where you physically cannot take on any more clients, as you simply don’t have the hours in the day to complete the work. This is why outsourcing is critical, so you don’t have to turn away potential clients. 

Pivoting into the agency model with team members who can complete the work for you will help you expand while reducing your workload in the long run.

The whole point is to allow you to work less, right? So by bringing in team members that can do the day-to-day tasks for you, you’re able to stay focused on scaling!

Manage your Team and Client Relationships

You’ll need to set clear expectations about how you want to manage communication and the relationship between your team members and clients. 

A lot of people are afraid to introduce their team members to their clients, primarily for trust or control reasons so if you’re feeling that way, it’s completely normal, however, when both your team members and clients feel really comfortable, they can work together cohesively and you can be removed from being the middle man!
