This weekly blog post highlights women who are successfully running their online business while managing a household to #NormalizeTheShitShow that comes with the territory of “doing it all”.
These moms are going to share the messy side of running their biz & raising kids, what a typical day in the life looks like (does this even exist?!), how they deal with mom guilt and SO MUCH MORE!
You're getting a sneak peek into what their life looks like so you don't have to feel bad when you haven't bathed your kids in weeks & they have avocado in their hair as they lay in their crib (guilty 🙋🏼♀️).
This week we’re hanging out with Whitney Zamiar of Whitney's Social.
I am a social media manager and email marketing specialist. I help ladies like me, mom's and service industry based, build their brands through social media. My mission is to help you make your dreams come true!
I have two kids, 1 and 3.5.
I feel like I am working my tail off the majority of the time. I work part-time at a hospital, have my own online business and home with my kids the majority of the time. I am a real mom, there is no hiding it. They are always there in the background when I am taking photos or making videos. I wouldn't have it any other way.
There's just not enough time in the day. If I have a busy workday, mom guilt sets in like I didn't do enough with my kids. Then some days I get only 5 minutes of work done because I did spend more time with my kids and I end up staying up way too late catching up.
Most days I'm lucky to shower and I'm always wearing my robe. If I do fix my hair makeup then I most def record alllll the videos I can. If not, I throw in the dry shampoo and ditch the robe for 10 minutes to get it done.
My kids are my alarm clock (my life goal is to one day wake up before them) so we get up have breakfast and they are usually happy to play for a couple hours while I work. We have lunch, I put my one year old down for her nap and then play with my toddler. Once he's tired around 3ish, I get back to work until dinner time. We have dinner as a fam, do bedtime routine then I either do more work, hang with my husband or binge Netflix.
I feel guilty when I do have to spend more time during the day working. I try my best to block times but kids don't understand and my toddler will definitely drag me away from my computer so I know it's time to take a break. I make the most of our weekends, not working and doing fun stuff.
I love being able to work from home and also be with my kids. I work in the mornings then watch my kids have fun outside. It's difficult to juggle but I love it so much!
You are allowed to be more than a "mom." Just because you have children doesn't mean can't go after your dreams of owning your own business.
